Meet the doctor
Virtual Doctors NZ was started by Dr Edward (Jang Won) Lee, who is a General Practitioner practicing in the Canterbury regions.
He sees 20 patients a day face-to-face during normal working hours offering comprehensive general practice services to the community he serves consulting upwards of 130 patients a week.

Arrive a little early
It is recommended to join a few minutes before your appointment time. If you are having issues joining you must raise it before the appointment start time, otherwise as per terms of use you will be regarded as a did not attend.
Before your appointment
A few quick things to have ready for a smooth consultation:
- Find a quiet, private and well-lit space
- Test your camera, microphone and internet connection beforehand
- Join a few minutes early using the video link from your email
- Make sure your device is charged or plugged in
As long as it’s not a medical emergency situation, our doctors can help you with a wide range of health issues and healthcare services such as;
Many other conditions not on this list will be fine for online support too. If your doctor thinks that you will need a face-to-face consultation for further treatment, they will discuss this with you during your consult to arrange the best next steps.
Good to know
Due to the regulatory requirements of the New Zealand Medical Council a virtual appointment requires communication via webcams for the first appointment.
We are not providing ACC services or WINZ medical certificate services yet…
In accordance with our clinic policy we will decline all requests for “weight loss injections”, controlled drug prescription requests and assistance with medication import.
